Default Parental Guidance Needed

Hello, this last holiday season I purchased my son the game Guild Wars Nightfall unaware of the consequences that would take place. When I purchased Guild Wars and Guild Wars Factions for my son he played on average about an hour a day.
But, he has not logged off once since December 25th, 2006. This is starting to concern me and the rest of my family and friends. Sometimes my child will forget to eat. Since he got the game Guild Wars Nightfall I cannot remember him once leaving the computer room. I remember waking up each mourning seeing him asleep, in the middle of a mission on the keyboard.
If anybody has any tactics that may work to remove my son from the computer without causing to much unhappiness and that fits my budget is welcomed to post here. Thank you in advance. I love my son.

(The following is my opinion and should not be taken as professional advice.)

All you can really do is be stern with him, I think. Tell him you need to talk to him urgently, and that the matter is of grave importance. Give him a serious talk about game addiction, its consequences (physical and mental), and offer him alternatives to playing the game.

If that doesn't work (he doesn't listen, says he'll go crazy if he doesn't play, etc.), then he really needs professional help. Honestly, someone addicted enough to play for one month straight and unable to do anything about it needs an expert. If necessary, drag him kicking and screaming to a professional. He'll despise you at first for it, but when he finally gets off his addiction he'll thank you for it.

Is this a joke or for real?

How old is your son?

Are you not the parent, ie the one who is the authority, decision maker, etc etc?

Set a limit to his playing times. Problem solved.

I don't really care whether or not this thread is real, this isn't the place for this kind of thread. (And if you really can't figure out how to unplug the computer, you have bigger problems than this forum can handle.) Closed.
